Ethicon VICRYL is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable surgical suture composed of a copolymer made of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide (polyglactin 910). The suture is braided and coated to enhance handling characteristics, knot security and smooth tissue passage.
This USP 2-0 violet suture is supplied in a 70 cm (27 inch) length and is armed with a single-armed UCL conventional cutting needle measuring 26 mm with a 3/8 circle curvature, designed to deliver sharp, controlled penetration for precise skin and superficial tissue closure.
VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis and have been shown to be nonantigenic, nonpyrogenic and to elicit only a slight tissue reaction during absorption. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 36 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
